The proper growth and nutrition of hair has been a great issue of concern these days. The look of the hair can make or ruin your appearance completely. Our hair is made primarily of a special type of protein called keratin. But along with that our hair also needs lots of vitamins and minerals too for proper growth. A follicle of the human scalp produces approximately .35 millimeters of hair shaft each day. Therefore you need to supply your body with the necessary nutrition for proper growth. The health of your body undoubtedly reflects on the health of your hair. And if you lead a highly unhealthy lifestyle it is bound to have its effects on your hair. So as to keep healthy you need to eat in the proper fashion, have regular exercise, and stay away from all types of drugs. It is no doubt quite complex to describe a healthy diet. But if said in a nutshell it should be a perfect balance of proteins, vitamins, and minerals in proper proportion.

With the lack of time in our life and the stress we deal with has a direct effect on our hair. The more we live in this period of stress; more are the possibilities of loosing hair. But its virtually impossible to the change our lifestyle in this era of stress and tension. We can’t help that. But at least we can do what is in our hand. We can at least have a check on our diet. We can avoid junk foods, have a healthy diet, and provide proper nutrition to our hair. If we can at least do that, would be a great help for our hair. And if possible we should manage a little time for our hair also.

A perfect diet for our hair is undoubtedly a balanced intake of vitamin A, B, and C; a good amount of protein, and minerals like iron, zinc, calcium, copper and silica. Iron helps the follicle to get oxygen, copper is related to hair color and zinc helps prevention of hair loss. About 25% percent of our hair is composed of water. Therefore it is essential to keep hydrated especially in the summers. In the group of vitamin biotin is quite essential. Deficiency of biotin can be the cause of hair fall in some people. So the balance of biotin should be maintained. As we know that a lot of protein is found in animal products. It is also essential to have adequate amount of green and leafy vegetables in diet chart. Root vegetables like carrots and beats are also helpful for hair. Coconut oil is also an important agent to provide nutrition to the hair.

Thus if we can provide proper nutrition to our hair we can prevent hair loss to a great extent. Proper nutrition is not only important for preventing hair loss but also is perfectly essential for the growth and health of our hair and scalp. Therefore we should always keep an eye on our diet chart, and try to avoid any type of drugs and junk foods. Too much intake of junk and oily foods is extremely harmful for our hair.
